Don’t know if anyone noticed, but last time I upgraded WordPress I failed to update my permalinks – so all the links from the main page were broken. No one could leave comments or browse categories. The site is all better now.
Over ten years at this and I still manage to screw up. *sigh*
I’m off to write another mommy column for “Oh Baby!” magazine. Our hatches have been battened down for two tropical storms (one of which has since been canceled).
She’s turning 2 on Saturday, and we’ve been on vacation this entire month. With Wayne finally home, every day has been a holiday. The party is going to be a small affair, not like last year. Just some of her little friends/cousins and the grandparents, basically. It’s been a fun time and I hate for it to end when Wayne eventually goes back to his day job. But alas, that’s why it’s a holiday and not every day.
See you in October! Hopefully I can set aside some crafty time and I can work on a new scrapbook for her Christmas present. Our house is just about as done as it can get for now, so I’m looking forward to putting my energy into a new project.
Wayne and I were talking about health care reform the other night, and it’s nice to know we totally agree on most things.
Guam is a prime example of why the U.S. system needs to be overhauled. I’ve been to too many medical fundraisers to pretend there’s not a problem. Take GovGuam’s health plan for instance. Insurance companies take your money every month but won’t cover your medical bills until you pay them a huge deductible first. $1500 is a lot of money to most of us and, unless you develop a serious condition, you’re never going to meet that deductible. Sounds like a scam to me. Some private-sector companies don’t even provide their employees with health coverage. They pay out of pocket every time they see the doctor.
I’m so lucky to have Tricare. With all my problems – all of them “pre-existing conditions” – health coverage is a nightmare. Yes, it’s an expensive and painful process, but reform needs to happen. Everyone should have access to affordable care. FoxNews pundits be damned.
