go go go

New video … Zoey saying “go go go” and blowing some raspberries. She’s endlessly entertaining.

Go go go!

*sigh*

I wish I were in Hawaii right now. Wayne’s there and he’ll have three whole days of liberty. =|

one adventure after another

We’ve had an eventful week so far. Between Abba and road trips I’m just about beat – and it’s only Thursday.

SUNDAY

Mom generously gave me the day off. I met up with Jessica, Lani & Ruben for lunch. Jerome joined us at the Mall and we trooped over to watch “Mamma Mia” – after buying bubble teas and hiding them oh so stealthily in Lani’s humongous purse. However, we get to the theater and they aren’t showing the movie. Damn you Guamcell movie info on my phone! We race to the Agana Theaters and make it just as the last preview is showing. Jerome and I sang along, I’m told Jessica did too but I didn’t hear her over Jomi.

It was a real good time. Even if Ruben squirmed his way through the entire flick. :)

Afterwards, Jerome had to work, so the rest of went to the Beanery for some coffee and conversation. Just like old times …

TUESDAY (some pasted from a letter to Wayne)

After a short visit to Wayne’s mom’s, June and I decided to take the ride up to Ritidian. I picked up June, Aki and Ani – the back seat of the Matrix was filled with car seats. The drive up to Ritidian was pretty uneventful. The kids were quiet. Zoey and Ani just stared at each other the entire time. We got to the nature center, walked around looking at the displays, listening to the birds, etc. Dad came out to say hello to Zoey.

If you haven’t been, you should check it out. It’s really eye-opening when you realize how silent the jungles are now, and how full of life they used to be before the snakes.

Anyway, so on the way home – and Zoey starts to freak out. She’s crying, June’s trying to comfort her and not helping. Zoey throws up. We pull over at a gas station. I clean her up, and while we’re trying to feed the kids and get the baby calmed down. After we get back in the car, Zoey’s okay for about five minutes. I race home, she’s yelling and crying and throwing up. At Barrigada Heights, Aki says, “Don’t go to Barrigada Heights. We don’t stay there anymore.” And I say, “Okay, I won’t.” Then Ani starts crying saying she has to poo. The kids are melting down one by one in the back, and June and I start giggling when she says, “At least we’ll have something to blog about tomorrow.”

At June’s I take Zoey out again, clean her up again, but I’m out of clothes so she’s down to her diaper. She calms down after a while and she’s burning up. We make it home without another meltdown, but she’s definitely got a fever. She gets her baby Motrin, and finally takes a nap.

Next few days …

On Wednesday, Zoey still has a fever. I look up everything I can on fevers. They all seem to say to see what happens after a couple of days if they don’t have anything else really wrong with them. She’s not throwing up (just from being mad yesterday), she’s not dehydrated, she’s still eating, the fever does go down with medicine, etc.

So now it’s Thursday and she’s still got a low-grade fever. Besides worrying us sick, she seems okay except for being hot. It could just be teething. Now I’m debating whether or not to take her to the ER, stick her in the tub, or just let it try to fix itself. I’m probably going to give her the lukewarm bath and see if it breaks, then if not I’ll take her to the ER later tonight.

I tell you man, being a mom is hard.
