Seeing double

We had portraits taken by Portraits Studio here in Barrigada. Grant was very nice, and we all tried our damnedest to get the girl to smile – no dice. But the picture turned out beautiful anyway! Zoey liked it right away …

I have new found respect for photographers who take baby pictures … that’s really hard work. Making a fool of yourself to capture that elusive smile.

I love all of her looks: serious, studious, intent, goofy, whimsical, sunny, and stormy.

I do not love sleep training. Obviously. I’ve been a huge softy and it’s beginning to bite me. My brother leaves for Japan next week, and when he does – Zoey is getting her own room. I really need to crack down on her sleep habits. The past three nights have left my mom and me battle scarred. She’s a good sleeper once you get her there, but she fights tooth and nail for hours before she gets too worn out to resist. So wish me luck – and fortitude. Or I may end up on Super Nanny in a few years.

Fun with your face

Here’s a neat site that uses science to morph your ugly mug! Cool. And I quote:

“Face of the Future is an EPSRC funded public engagement project aimed
at exploring the latest advances in facial computer vision and
graphics, and what they mean for society.”

Transform your face into an older version of you, another ethnicity, or an artist’s rendering … and I don’t mean with Photoshop’s filters.

Give it a spin, and I’d love to see your results too!

And a Wayne of every color:

Band practice

Wayne and his unit left for Kuwait yesterday. I miss him already … but have gems like this to keep myself occupied:
