My second paper for my Modern Japanese Novel class is going to be about Noh theater. Well .. it’s gonna have to be since I’ve spent most of tonight doing research on the history and tradition behind it, and looking at the masks referred to in Fumiko Enchi’s novel Masks.
I think I need a break because they are beginning to look like disembodied heads. If you stare at the ZÅ no onna mask below long enough, you’ll know what I mean:

Here’s a great site about Noh, in case you want to learn more: NOH & KYOGEN -An Introduction to the World of Noh & Kyogen.
Ah literature … it’s fun.
By the way, happy thanksgiving to everyone, American or not. Be thankful you aren’t a turkey today, that’s my motto.
For those of you with nothing to do the night before Monday – check out The Rich Society, a.k.a. Mike Hartendorp, Rich Borja, Vince Mesa, and Mario Borro, @ Buddies on Sunday nights, 9-11pm. I’ve been told it’s an acoustic gig, on the pool hall side. Starting 20 Nov.
Don’t forget to check out Two Weeks Notice every Thursday, 9:30pm, @ Mac & Marti’s in Tumon – they, like, totally rock.

This is to help me get off me arse and do all this work, because I’m a terrible procrastinator by nature. I’d rather watch Alton Brown all night (tonight was avacados) than do my research … grrr.
Maybe if I post it here I’ll be motivated. HAHAHAHA yeah right!
